I tested it by continuing to walk and it poped up when entering each new sector, the only other effect I noticed was the minimap going gray at the same time briefly, that and my screen staying a grayed, duller level of brightness (even after closing the minimap for the return journey) until I entered my casio. At which point it went back to normal.
