I do like the rock, paper, scissors style of drones and guardians.
If there are more drones, I hope they're healing drones to repair the ship on the go, or tank/shield drones that draw aggro from the guardians; and if there are more enemies, I hope they're just stronger versions of the lava, aqua, and spark which guard gem-rich mines.

Maybe only have a cap while offline, with no cap while playing.
For example, 100,000 Credits vested would earn 60 Gems/hr. 1 Gem is added directly to the player's wallet every minute while online; or 1 Gem is added to a holding every minute while offline, up to 6 hours worth (360 Gems in this case). The holding could be collected by the player upon launching the game.

Another broadcast should be made once the meteor has been mined, letting others know so they don't waste time looking for it.
