Increasing the pool of available cp does nothing if people have the ability to purchase unlimited quantities of cp. No matter how much cp you pump into the market it will do no good until you limit the amount someone can purchase on a daily basis. You have people with large bank accounts of chips so they can afford to purchase large quantities of cp at will. Right now the cp market is too volatile as it can be affected by a few people overcoming the efforts of many. Every time cp prices start to come down, someone seems to come along and buy in bulk and we are right back where we started if not higher. If you put a cap on how much cp can be bought per person daily, you could buy time for the market to build up a surplus to keep the prices down. I know there is excess cp out there that could be listed but because the market keeps going up people are reluctant to list their cp because they know if they sell it now and need some later, they will end up paying more for it then. If prices stabilized, then I believe more people would be willing to list their cp which would in turn increase the quantity of cp available to purchase which would lead to reduced cp prices.
In the end the solution isn't about making cp easier to earn, its about putting limits on how much can be purchased by one person on a daily basis. Limiting purchases will allow time for the market to build up surplus and allow for cp prices to come down.
I agree, I'm a little guy trying to improve my casinos and all I can do is bid and then watch some whale come along and outbid me. The end result is the rich get richer and the little guy gets nothing. If I had been around when the items I'm bidding on were offered I would have bought some thru gold sales. As I wasn't here then, buying thru the auction is my only option for getting them. It is frustrating to say the least that I almost never win an auction unless for some reason the whale decides to be nice and let one be bought by someone else. Even then there is no guarantee that the whale will play nice in the process. They could still bid up an item to an expensive level that wouldn't even be noticeable to them but would almost bankrupt me. If there was a limit on how many of a specific item a person could win within a specified time frame, it would allow others to get a chance to win items without them being pumped up to ridiculous levels.
