Voice chat for crews
I think a voice chat for each crew would be a nice addition to the game, especially for battles.

#1. Skype: With audio only group calls, there can be 25 participants and none need to have a paid account. Problem is the client is very intense on resources. Microsoft also records your text conversations and records WHO you call. Microsoft may record entire vocal conversations and their content. This includes video content as well.
#2. Teamspeak: One server with 16 slots is free. Problem is the client is very intense on resources.
#3. Mumble: One server with 50 slots is free. It is very dependable. Voice quality is the same as Teamspeak. On my computer mumble used 1.2% of memory when i was holding down the key and talking, so this makes it the least resource intensive out of this list. And it is the closest to total privacy you can get out of this list. It may not have a pretty interface like the previous two, but you can change it by creating your own skins or aquiring pregenerated skins.

Get a Mumble channel. Mumble is cross platform. I know how you can get a 50 seat channel for free!

Personally i think that would eat up way to much of the server and cause alot of lag related issues , there is a few non intrusive programs you can use though such as Teamspeak , Skype and loads more online.
Right now that probably the better option
