Chat Group
Chat Groups are a wonderful thing when all of the parties on the chat are people that you know. However folks can lose control of chat groups because anyone can add someone to the group, This can make a less than ideal situation - especially when someone starts spamming group or using rude or obscene language. Because of this, i would like to make a few recommendations regarding chat groups.
First - the creator of the group should be the only person with "Add" priviledges to the Chat Group they created. This will allow for some control to a group that the owner creates.
Second - People should be invited into a chat group. They should be allowed to see who sent an invitation, who else is in the group, and then be allowed must accept or reject the invitation rather that just being added. Sort of like a friends invitation - you can either accept or ignore.
I am a very strong supported of group chat and have created several chat groups myself. They are simple, convienent, and very fun ways of communicating on the game. However I have also been on the downside where I have been added to a group where I do not know most of the people and see message counts in excess of 99 in a few minutes. Also, in Exocraft each of these messages appear as a banner at the base of your screen and obscures your radar.
I hope that something can be done without removing the concept of chat groups as I believe they do add real value to the game.
Thanks RoyalSerf

If you uncheck Popup Notifications, it should block all GFN notifications from popping up. Did you click the Save Settings button after you unchecked the box?

@Benji I really like that suggestion and i noticed that we have an Allow Notifications in the settings - not sure how that works because i removed the flag and it did not seem to have an effect on those notices. Not sure whether that would only work for Betacraft notifications while on Betacraft or if it would prevent notices sent from all Goldfire applications- like Casino RPG. Since I keep both apps open maybe it confuses the system?

I like the idea of needing to accept a group chat invitation to be added to the group.
It would probably also be a good idea to either disable notifications for group chats, or to allow users to do so.

I agree very much with RoyalSerf....I got added to a chat list and did not know any of those people. One was showing in my friends list and I had not added him..After I removed him he was still able to send me a message. He also bragged about messing with 47 people. His chats were coming in by the 100;s....This idea would stop someone like that trying to ruin the game for others.
