Cut excess costs from 999999 to a max of 999 clams...everything above 999 clams to be deducted to 999 or return to bag.

Sellers post that way to show they have an item that might be for sale at the right offer. If it were not for sale, even if in their market, they could put a zero in the price field and it wouldn't show to other players. Though some seem to do it as a flex :)
