There is a Chrome extension that works at least in large global chat to mitigate the avatar GIFs: Chrome web store> Extensions> Animation Policy ( TY Cowtoon :) Goldfire has a warning about possible seizure triggers in Terms and Conditions (Sec. 11) which all players are required to acknowledge & the Devs have taken care of specific problems if they received a support ticket.

I don't suffer with epilepsy but I have had bouts of labyrinthitis in the past. I have found the animations (especially the spinning coins) to be a trigger for feeling ill when going through with these episodes and so I have wondered about people suffering with epilepsy. It would be nice if we could have the choice to switch off animations. It may also help a lot with lag on some systems.
