with just the foreground left behind or something similar. One area for example, in a very Narnian creationist moment, has just a single lamp post in the middle of the blackness. It seems to be affecting the northern and western edges of the city.

Lol, this is the best bug report so far.
We made performance improvements to the map that probably resulted in this. We'll get it fixed. :)
