how about a slider for sound effects and music volume level, for me the music is ok but the effects especially the car horn is too loud by comparison, about 1/2 the volume would probably be right maybe.

There is sound control from the drop down menu. Press the gears icon under your level.

Options to have selectable sounds would be good, personally I agree with Penn, I'd turn off the car horns, but would accept the rest as a low volume background music/noise. Otherwise the mute button will end up being quickly engaged and then the other sound effects would be wasted.
